Strategies to get the best Cape Fear area vacation home experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • Summertime is high season in the Cape Fear area area. To find the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to select the best vacation rental:

  • Choose vacation dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Beautifully restored condo in the heart of everything downtown has to offer! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • If there's an individual Cape Fear area beach you simply love, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
