Tips for getting the perfect Cape Fear area vacation rental experience:
When to reserve a Cape Fear area rental & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Cape Fear area area. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. All new 2BR 1BA w/ King bed-Fast Wi-Fi 75\" OLED TV - 15 minute walk to Riverwalk has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. Otherwise, call the property owner before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. text the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
