Our top Cape Fear area vacation rental tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer is high season in the Cape Fear area area. To find the best value, change your family's Cape Fear area vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the perfect rental:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. 5 BR 4.5 Bath 2nd Row Direct Beach Access with Pool and Elevator has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what is best for your family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
