Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • To find the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Filter your search:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. 5 bedroom home in creek estates, private crofter and maritime forest views has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If not, call the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
