WELCOME to “Scotch Bonnet” our freshly purchased home here at Holden Beach. It is a second row home with private beach access directly across the street from the home. Holden Beach and this home included everything we were looking for in a family vacation spot. The sweeping ocean vistas from inside and outside of the home, private beach access, backyard pool, and immaculately maintained coastal interior will make you feel as if you have found your new favorite place on earth. Sitting in the swing on the porch you feel like you are Ocean Front. The ground floor provides painless access to the backyard pool which is equipped with pool floats and water toys, a surfboard bar, outdoor grille, and plenty of comfortable pool side seating. The home may be entered from the ground level by interior or exterior stairs and/or elevator providing for simple access from the beach or pool. Upon entering the 1st floor, guests will immediately notice the attention to detail in every space. This home was designed to be a true home away from home and is well adored. The main floor features 3 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms (2 King Beds, 1 Queen bed) as well as a full laundry area. The upstairs is a open Kitchen/Living/Dining area with all of the amenities one may need as well as handsome ocean vistas. It is easy to find your self caught up here watching the dolphins play and/or the pelicans dive for the next meal. The 2nd floor also offers 2 bedrooms (1 queen and 1 bunk room that sleeps 6) 1 jack and jill full bath, and a guest 1/2 bath. The Scotch Bonnet also has 3 decks for your enjoyment (2 overlook the striking Atlantic and 1 overlooks the pool area).
The Scotch Bonnet is located a short distance to the Holden Beach bridge, but far enough away to avoid the traffic. Ice cream, coffee, Intracoastal, tennis/pickleball courts, concerts in the park, turtle watch programs, weekly tie-die shirts for kids/adults, boat/kayak launch are all within walking distance of the home. Additionally a cycling/walking path runs most of the island and is located directly in front of the home on Ocean Blvd. There are multiple local stores and surf stores that we frequent. Most of these are located just across the bridge. We recommend checking out Provision Co., Mankins, The Scoop, Mermaid's, Patronie's, Inlet View in Shalotte or Lou Lou's for local eats. Saltwater Shanty and Beaches n' Cream are our choice for local ice cream. There are also numerous businesses that provide fresh caught seafood and vegetables if you choose to eat in for the nighttime. Lockwood Folly County Club close by offers golf for the golfers in the family. Additionally, Shallote is only 15 mins. a way and offers numerous good eateries and a local arcade/bowling alley. Calabash and Southport are only 30 mins. away by car with many food and shopping choices in cozy handsome coastal environments. Myrtle Beach and Wilmington are an approximate 45 min. drive. Finally, beach walks always provide sea treasures on Holden and are a favorite activity of our family. Don't forget to leave a message in the mailbox on either the east or west end. You will find Holden offers everything a family wants in a beach hideaway, but leaves out all the things you don't.

We look forward to sharing our home with you and your family this season. The pool can be heated fall and spring for an additional fee. The home is 5 bedroom/4.5 bath and sleeps 14 comfortably. We hope you make many memories here and fall in adore with "The Scotch Bonnet" just as we have.

How to book the best Cape Fear area vacation rental experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Holden Beach rental home:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Cape Fear area area. Booking your Cape Fear area vacation home in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Amazing Views Plus Pool & Private Beach Access Make for a Great Family Vacation has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Tips for a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
