Carolina Beach vacation rental tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Cape Fear area area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose the perfect vacation home:

  • To start, have your family select trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Spacious 4BR Duplex with a Pool! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
