Tips and Tricks to get the best Cape Fear area rental home experience:

Get the best value:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best value, try changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Some owners offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitors guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your search:

  • Choose your vacation week and budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Whalecome 2 the beach 2-elevator has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's an individual Cape Fear area attraction you are crazy about, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the host right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
