Vacation rental home tips:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer time is high season in Bald Head Island. To book the most suitable rental within budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many property management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitor guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the perfect rental:

  • Select vacation week and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Home Away From Home! 3 Bedroom Home Completely Updated; community pool access and BHI club access has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before you book the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your trip.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
