Cape Fear area rental home booking tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Reserve your rental home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your Search:

  • Start by choosing the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. WaveHaven Cottage - Charming totally renovated 1938 bungalow. has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

Considerations for your stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
