Tips to get the very best vacation home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. Book your Cape Fear area rental property in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting and booking your Cape Fear area rental home:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Walk to the beach or kayak and fish on the Davis Canal! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking websites. If not, call the property owner before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your trip.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a specific Cape Fear area destination you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many difficulties.
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
