Tips to get the optimal Cape Fear area vacation property experience:

When to book a Cape Fear area rental home & When to go:

  • Summer is high season in Holden Beach. Booking in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select your dates and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. The Wright Oasis, High-speed Internet, 2nd Row, 140 steps to the Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a particular Cape Fear area beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
