How to find the best Cape Fear area vacation rental experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Wilmington. To find the best value, shift your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking the right Cape Fear area vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. The Family Point, near Carolina Beach, Big yard & parking has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
