Finding the best Cape Fear area rental home experience:

Find your best deal:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Cape Fear area area. To book the most suitable vacation home within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Cape Fear area restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • To start, have your group commit to vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Shore Break has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
