Our top Rental home tips:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning and choosing the best Cape Fear area vacation home:

  • Begin by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ocean front condo w view from EVERY window! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If not, email the host before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If there's a specific Cape Fear area destination you simply love, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • During check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
