Finding the best vacation home experience:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • Summer months are high season in the Cape Fear area area. To book the most suitable rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Cape Fear area restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose and book yourvacation home:

  • Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Play in the \"Sand 'n Surf\" in this beachfront home with a private heated pool and two large decks. has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
