How to find the best Cape Fear area vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • To get the most suitable rental within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Cape Fear area restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides have deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning and choosing the right Cape Fear area vacation home:

  • Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Perfect location with ocean view has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation.
  • If there's an individual Cape Fear area destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
