Cape Fear area rental home booking tips and tricks:

Finding the best value:

  • The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the largest vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Cape Fear area restaurants and activities.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing the best rental home in the Cape Fear area area:

  • First, have your group select date ranges and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanfront 6 bedroom\/6 bath home with 2 hot tubs can host up to 16 people has 6 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. Otherwise, call the property management company before booking the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or could be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Tips for a great stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
