Booking the best Carolina Beach vacation property experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. To book the best rental home within your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Cape Fear area restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
Choosing and booking yourrental:
- Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. New Updated Beachfront Condo w/pool Carolina Beach\n has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
