We’ve poured heart and soul into this home, aiming to create a lively, colorful getaway filled with character and history—far from the dull, lifeless Airbnbs we’ve experienced. Inspired by the European countryside, the home is brimming with unique details, ensuring there’s always something new to discover. Don’t miss our painting scavenger hunt in the guest book! Many of the treasures you’ll find were handpicked across North Carolina or lovingly collected over years (and yes, stored in our patient parents’ closets). When to go & When to book:

• In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
• June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the largest vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Cape Fear area restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
• Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
• Property managers typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
• Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
• Did your group have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
