Tricks and tips for getting the best rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Book your Cape Fear area vacation home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, management companies supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing the best vacation rental:

  • Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Charming Getaway 3 miles to Carolina Beach & State Park, Close to Restaurants has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.

Tips to have a smooth stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
