Carolina Beach is a mix of friendly locals, snowbirds, and visitors all looking to escape the inland and enjoy the sand, surf, and ambiance. We really have an striking community!
Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesn’t even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more calming and less “adventure” is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!

Strategies for getting the best rental experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- June, July, and August are high season in Carolina Beach. To book the largest rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Cape Fear area area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
How to select the best vacation rental in the Cape Fear area area:
- Select your vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. \"Carolina's Ocean Playground\" has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your trip.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs applied to your invoice.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
