Strategies to get the best vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the best vacation home in Holden Beach:

  • Select your vacation week and max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Beautiful Canal Home with Private Dock, Close to the Beach. has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's a particular Cape Fear area attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • During arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
