How to get the best Cape Fear area vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Cape Fear area rental home:

  • Summertime is high season in the Cape Fear area area. Booking in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many management companies supply Cape Fear area area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your rental search:

  • First and foremost, have your family decide on a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Arts and Antiques flat - sleeps 4! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area attraction you simply love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
