Make the local Port City community a little brighter by signing up to volunteer for the springtime’s Work on Wilmington – an annual event that brings together volunteers and local businesses to do a world of good for the local community. Held at various venues around town that change every year, Work on Wilmington is a great opportunity to help neighbors and friends, and to keep the Port City the shining destination that attracts visitors from all over the world.

Work on Wilmington has garnered the support of thousands of volunteers over the years, and new locals, visitors, and businesses and community organizations are always welcome to join in and lend a helping hand or two. During the morning, volunteers spend a couple hours helping out with various projects all around the city, such as painting, planting, fixing, refurbishing, and cleaning area nonprofits and schools. After a full morning of hard work and helping out, participants are treated to an appreciation celebration that includes plenty of fun, such as food, music, games for all ages, and even prizes. Sponsored by the Wilmington Chamber Foundation and carried out by the Leadership Wilmington program, Work on Wilmington is a great way to “spring clean” the beautiful Port City community.
