Tips to get the best Sunset Beach rental home experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Sunset Beach. Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Start by selecting your vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Waterway House Located Between Ocean Isle Beach and Sunset Beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges applied to your invoice.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
