Strategies to get the best Wilmington rental home experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Wilmington. To find the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Cape Fear area attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, picking, and booking a perfect Cape Fear area rental home:

  • Select your dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. The Cozy Bungalow has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a specific Cape Fear area beach you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
