Finding the best Ocean Isle Beach vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Ocean Isle Beach rental home:

  • The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Booking your Cape Fear area vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Narrow your Search:

  • Start by choosing your trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Stunning Island Park Home with Private Dock! Only the Birds have Better Views! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or might be applied to your contract.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
