Cape Fear area vacation rental booking tips:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Summer months are high season in the Cape Fear area area. Booking in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many property management companies supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by having your group select the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. New Luxurious Ocean View Oasis on South Beach with 4 Bed 4 Bath Bhi Club has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
Know before you go:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
