Strategies to get the perfect Cape Fear area vacation home experience:

When to book a Cape Fear area rental & When to go:

  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Summer months are high season in Carolina Beach. Booking in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Finding the best vacation rental in the Cape Fear area area:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. New Listing - 4 bedroom with elevator, dog friendly! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
