Cape Fear area vacation rental home tips and tricks:
How to get the best value:
- Summertime is high season in the Cape Fear area area. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking the right Cape Fear area vacation home:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Key to Paradise! 2nd Row House, Ocean & Waterway Views with Private Pool has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
