Pirate’s Table Seafood Restaurant is a classic seafood restaurant that’s found along Carolina Beach road, and features all the Cape Fear region classics, but without the big close-to-the-beach prices. With a simple exterior and a simple menu, Pirate’s Table is a good destination for patrons who like a family-friendly atmosphere with Calabash-style fare.
The menu is modestly sized, but features a nice array of seafood to choose from. Hungry patrons can start with a choice of appetizer, which includes shrimp cocktail, clam chowder, fried mushrooms and onion rings, and then move on to one of the dinner platters, which are available in both small and large portions. The seafood available includes local favorites like deviled crabs, crab cakes, broiled shrimp, and stuffed flounder, as well as a good helping of fried specialties like shrimp, oysters, scallops, and clam strips. Diners can create a combination platter, with two or three seafood main dishes, or can opt for the big “Pirate’s Platter” which includes a helping of six different seafoods, including oysters, crab cakes, shrimp and scallops. With a nice choice of southern sides, (including boiled potatoes, corn on the cob and slaw), and a friendly family atmosphere, Pirate’s Table Seafood Restaurant is a back-to-the-basics option for folks who want to try classic Calabash seafood.
