The Pier-To-Pier Swim is a lightly competitive outing that features a roughly two-mile swim in between the Johnnie Mercers Pier and the Crystal Pier, and which is sure to be an exciting event for participants and springtime visitors alike.

The event launches from the Crystal Pier, and from here, swimmers will head out to the surf to make a roughly two-mile cruise to the other landmark that serves as the finish line, the Johnnie Mercer’s Pier. Race swim caps and timing chips are provided for all participants, and the direction may change on race day, spending on wind and current conditions in the open ocean waters. Top awards will be given out to best overall male and female finishers in a number of age categories, and spectators are welcome to cheer on the athletes from the edge of the shoreline between the two piers. A fun event for swimmers of all ages, the Pier-To-Pier Swim is a unique and engaging sporting event that perfectly rings in the summertime season on Wrightsville Beach.
