North Carolina, and specifically Bald Head Island, is renowned for a wealth of treasures including historical sites and landmarks, a vibrant cultural scene, and plenty of unique things to eat and drink, and visitors can experience all of these treasures and more at the annual North Carolina Treasures Weekend. Traditionally held in early June, this weekend is a toast to the wonderful things that Bald Head Island has to offer, and features a wealth of food, art, history, and spirits to please everyone in the party.
The event boasts a wide array of corresponding activities and events which may include wine and beer tastings at local eateries, special art exhibits throughout the island, historical events and special tours at local landmarks like the Bald Head Island Lighthouse, and many more delicious things to do and see. The highlight of the weekend is the Bald Head Island Club’s annual Gala in White, which is a glamorous fundraiser that benefits the Old Baldy Foundation – an organization that works to preserve the historic lighthouse in the heart of the island. With plenty of activities lined up for visitors of all ages and tastes, the North Carolina Treasures Weekend is an event that lives up to its name.
