Lion's Paw Golf Links is a stunning coastal course that’s part of the five-course “Big Cat” collection, and which provides a challenging field of play for golfers staying along the southern North Carolina coastline. Located just inland of the Ocean Island Beach shoreline, and convenient for visitors staying in the Myrtle Beach and Cape Fear areas alike, this 7,003 yard and 18-hole course is scenic, unique, and a fine example of the region’s world-renowned golf scene.
The Lion’s Paw is distinguished by a quiet border of towering hardwoods, contoured bentgrass greens, difficult but thrilling water shots, and piles of stark white sand which indicate deep bunkers and high embankments. There’re more than 70 bunkers on the course, as well as generous mounding along the bulk of the fairways, and multiple tee areas to challenge golfers of all abilities. Golfers will also be treated to water views and / or water hazards on 15 of the 18 holes, and wetland vistas can be admired from multiple vantage points along the course. With a world of pretty views and an expansive and engaging field of play, golfers from all areas can discover just how fun a traditional southern North Carolina course can be.
