Renowned as the first “Formula 1” or super-sprint style of triathlons in the nation, the Carolina Beach Double Sprint Triathlon is a USAT sanctioned event that will thrill participants and spectators alike. Featuring an ocean swim, bike ride, and a 1.5 mile run, this annual competition tests limits across the board, while allowing participants to discover the best of Carolina Beach and miles beyond.
The Carolina Beach Double Sprint Triathlon begins with a 375 meter ocean swim, which is immediately followed by a 1.5 mile run and then a 20K bike ride on a closed course in the town of Carolina Beach. Then, it’s back to the ocean to complete the last leg of the race, in a heated 275 meter final swim to the finish line. All participants will get a special and unique race T-shirt as well as a finisher medal, and prizes will be given to the top finishers in several distinct categories. Fun for all ages, this incredible event is a great way to enjoy an adventure while discovering the beauty of Carolina Beach both on land, and by sea. The event is also free to all spectators, who can cheer on the competitors from the sand.
