Our top Cape Fear area rental home booking tips:

Get the most from your budget:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Summer time is high season in the Cape Fear area area. To find the best rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing and booking the best Cape Fear area rental home:

  • Start by having your family decide on dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Dune Ridge Hideaway S has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's an individual Cape Fear area attraction you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
