Getting the best rental home experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best rental home within budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to pick the best rental:

  • Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. \"Waters Edge 431-B\" - Oceanfront Condo w\/ Community Pool, 2 Bedrooms \/ 2 Bathrooms has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

More considerations:

  • Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
