Tricks and tips for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summertime is high season in Carolina Beach. To find the best vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and pick the perfectrental:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Steps away from Beach- Dog Friendly has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area attraction you simply love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
