Tips to get the perfect Cape Fear area vacation property experience:

When to visit Carolina Beach & When to book:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the best value, change your family's Cape Fear area vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Updated Condo, Steps from the Beach, Dog Friendly has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation group.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
