Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:

When to visit & When to reserve a Cape Fear area rental home:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Summer is high season in Ocean Isle Beach. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and choose your prefectrental home:

  • Start by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. JUST BRING YOUR BEACH CLOTHES! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
