Earth Day is a great day to get outside and celebrate the wild Cape Fear landscape, and at this annual guided hike, visitors and locals alike can discover all the amazing things that make the Carolina Beach State Park so special. Winding through a variety of unique habitats and environments, this guided Earth Day Trail Hike is a great opportunity for adventurers of all ages to uncover just how unique the local landscape can be.

The event takes place within the heart of the Carolina Beach State Park, and participants will enjoy a long and lingering hike that is guided by a knowledgeable park ranger. The hike covers the park’s newest trail, the Sand Live Oak Trail, which is a relatively easy hike through some of the most diverse and distinctive plant communities within the park’s landscape. Along the way, expect to see Venus flytraps and other carnivorous plant species, as well as an abundance of wildlife of all varieties that call the wild area home. Bug spray and sunscreen are recommended, and the event is free for hikers of all ages and skill levels. With lots of adventure to go around, this trail hike is an ideal way to celebrate Earth Day.
