Shallotte Point Flounder Tournament
This is a 2 day tournament with thousands in prizes given, including the Edith Picket Angler Award given to the lady who catches the largest fish. Participants must have their own boat. Each year the State tags 2 flounders and releases them, if a participant catches one of those flounders they win prizes. Brunswick County Tourism

Oak Island Open Pier Fishing Tournament
The Oak Island Open Pier Fishing Tournament is a unique pier fishing tournament that lets participants fish for their favorite catch, or fish for all species found around a pier.
