Annual Civil War Living History Weekend
Bring your entire family to the 143rd anniversary of ''Battle of Forks Road'' of the Civil War. This free public program, a Living History Weekend, will take place on the museum grounds. Military and civilian re-enactors will delight and inform with living history exhibits and encampments, small arms and artillery demonstrations, artifacts, period crafts and children's activities. Anniversary of the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge
Enjoy a variety of activities including demonstrations of muskets, cannon, and broadswords, colonial music, surveying, cooking demonstrations, military drill, blacksmithing, and other activities. Two separate militia camps will portray the Loyalist and American troops who fought at the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge. Throughout each day scheduled weapons firings and musical performances will be offered. A variety of children's programs will also be offered. Moores Creek National Battlefield
